Title: Photobucket, you suck!
Post by: Adam on July 05, 2017, 10:59:37 PM
Appears Photobucket has changed their hosting policy allowing photos to be linked in forums. They now expect users to pay $400 US for his capability. If they weren't already in trouble, they just sealed their fate.

Please post up your suggestions for free image hosting providers.

Imgur.com is what I'd recommend.

Thanks Marvin . Its listed on a few online sites as the best. I'm surprised by the amount of members on plenty of sites with little or no input on this issue. Tinypics is another but not suggested due to the fact they are owned by photobucket. Tapatalk also. And yes Adam Photobucket does suck pulling this stunt.

Testing to see if this works. I use this site to post links to my music on a couple of keyboard sites. Hope it works for images.

God Bless,
Don

Testing imgur.

I can provide a link but can't seem to just post a picture. I think I need to be schooled.  Help needed!  :o :o :o

The links you guys are putting in do not have a photo file extension specified, i.e. .jpg. I tried to figure out how to do that with imgur and couldn't. I'll see if there are new plugins for the forum software.

To add to our problems, I get an error 500, which likely won't be fixed until I move the website to new hardware over the next week.

Thanks for everyone's patience.

Thanks Vee, I tried as you said but no success.  Guess I'll wait until Adam moves the web site.
How is it that you can post but I get the same error massage as Adam?

Test form Imgur.com

http://imgur.com/0a9bm1V (http://imgur.com/0a9bm1V)

So the IMG add does not work but the link does.

<img scr="http://imgur.com/0a9bm1V">

(http://<blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="a/atFXR"><a href="//imgur.com/atFXR"></a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>)

This is annoying...

Nice fish!

I see two problems with what you tried.. 1. Typo - it's "src" not "scr". Think source, not screen.  2.the share link needs to be to the image file not the directory - needs to end in .jpg etc

Vee are you using the app or the website? I don't see multiple share links in the app but your way is way easier.

Anyone have any luck with links from Instagram?

If there's anyone who would know. And the rebuild isn't going smoothly either.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Not sure why it's hit and miss for some people

That pic of the smallie was caught on a drift down the Grand on my SUP. Pretty cool way to fish.

I don't use photobucket but Google says there is a way to download the pics by Albums.

Ah nevermind then.
I was looking for a way to migrate my Photobucket albums over to Imgur or any other hosting site.  Without having to download 15,524 files and upload them one at a time.  Ugh.

How about Migratr. I've used it for Flickr but it looks like it supports Photobucket as well.
