Had halibut for dinner courtesy of the Beaches Fish Market. At $20/lb. it's way cheaper than catching them yourself even if Lake Ontario was salt water. The perch were all so small I threw them back. The MNR guy said that the jumbo perch catch is unbelievable at Jackson's Point right now.

Report - Got there at 12:15 & left at 4:15 so missed the evening walleye bite. Hooked up literally dozens of little perch up to about 9" on minnows. I on one rod I had a double-hook Lake Simcoe rig and pretty much every time I had a bite but couldn't get to it right away because of a fish on the other rod I had a double header on the one rod. Eventually got tired of unhooking so many fish (not to mention the cold fingers) so I tried some other stuff that didn't work as well as the minnows. Jig heads with soft plastics, small jigging spoons, etc. Great to be out on the ice, despite the hordes of snowmobiles. Don't miss out, guys. MNR dropped by as well, continuing with their never-ending surveys.

Don, let me know, you going on Saturday or Sunday
I can't go on Saturday, because will be at St. Catherine for Trout tourney.
But if you want to go on Sunday, I'm in.
For Barrie either North Side or South side.
Also are you will be walk or used ATV or sled.
Just becarefull due pressure creak and show cover on top.
Always spud out on the way out.
So far 5 sled already drop inside the lake, and 2 car go through the ice at Pefferlaw.
All sled are around North side, BBP or BP area.

Is look like you go for Scugog.
Do you want go for crappie or for walleye ?

PM me, if you like.

So, we're on. Launch point is Centre Rd. at the north end of the island. I'll be there at around noon sometime & gnatwest a bit later. I'll be in my one-man blue clam shelter and gnw in a red contraption. You'll see my black GMC Sierra pu at the launch. Get the lead out Jim. Remember that I'm your lucky charm.
