I use a Malone load assist roof rack for my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
It works well for me. My Jeep has a decorative spoiler that extends past the back end of the car that will not accept much weight. The extendable arm on the rack was long enough for my older jeep but it does not reach the back of this jeep. I just put a pillow under the extendable arm and that worked fine for me.
I think retail was about $250ish.
They are worth a look.

Do you have some pics of Malone load assist? We are busy installing the new shocks and smittybilt parts for the Grand Cherokee and looking for kayak rack next.

I can't offer any suggestions to your predicament but I sure like your new teardrop camper trailer.  8)

My wife and I have talked about one of these. How hard is it to put racks on top of that bad boy?

Ignore the price and buy a Yakima rack. Apart from a bit of buyers remorse in the beginning you'll never regret it.

i have no advice but as the "proud" new owner of a minivan i need the same advice as i will be cartopping and need roof racks for my sweet sweet vanbourghini so i am looking for something a bit better than my pool noodle setup that i was able to use with my truck.
