Karen says thanks for all the positive comments here and on facebook!  It was a great tournament and her first gar was an adrenaline boost for both of us.  I had one on as well for a few seconds before it scored a 9.5 on the aerial dismount.  We were in a school of probably 30 or more gar and both had a number of hard hits.  We only saw a few other solitary gar basking over the weekend.  It was a great weekend and thanks to Jeff and Paula for putting on another excellent tournament.  It was great to see everyone and looking forward to the next event

And also out of the 5 types of fish the 5 biggest get entered to a draw for the other Kayak,, So if you  get the Biggest Pike or Bass or anyone of the 5  you can also win a kayak,,,
The 5 added up for over all length was for the Championship round,
So relay it is 2 tournaments in one,,,

Crappie the Bay of Quinte event was a multi species Sat/Sun halfday event. Gar Pike/Northern Pike/Walleye/ Drum /Bass combined total for the two days.  Fun event because of the 5 species involved . Ontario Kayak Fishing Series

Yes was a great day saturday and today so so again 😳, and plenty of different species for the taking. Love these multi species events over all the others. And a big hats off to the winner Karen Poole. Landing her first ever gar pike and a big one at that . 40 incher to keep her up on top .That Predator PDL she won is a beauty of a kayak. And super to see some of new found friends at the halfway point between many of us in Southern Ontario. Big thanks to Jeff for putting on the event and the sponsors.

Was a great time. Was nice to share big bass with you Neil. Walleye fishing has bounced back on Bay of Quinte. It's only going to get better. Looking forward to this class of fish growing over the next few years.

Unbelievable weekend, one I'll remember for years to come.

Saturday was a picture perfect day and an unbelievable walleye bite all weekend to boot. Good times!

Can we still fish BOQ tomorrow?

I would say yes as BoQ is Lake Ontario

8.
Pre-fishing is not allowed on inland lake
s or rivers for 24hrs prior to the event
s.  With the exception of the Great
Lakes.

last year they said...

Pre-fishing: YES

This the one OKFS event where pre-fishing is encouraged for several reasons:
1. Any chance to pre-fish is a leg up for you.
2. Multi-species events can have you fishing all over if don't know the area and don't read water well.
3. Bay of Quinte at Telegraph Narrows is a large area.
4. Benefits County Shores(great host and sponsor) with added revenue by staying longer.
5. You get to pick a prime camp spot!

Be safe out there this weekend gang, sounds like Red Rocket won't be able to take his mid day nap in the channel with the river rockets flying past....
