not sure if you have time to cut a cheap piece of plywood to cover the side rails in front of your kayak to storage more gear.. stuff won't fall out through rails..

4'x8' sheet cut in half long = 2pc 2'x8'
take one 2'x8' for the front of trailer rail.
cut one 2'x8' in half = 2pc 2'x4'
2'x4' for the sides in the front..
2pc lumber corner brace,

semi box in front of the trailer for storage.. flatbed of truck plus area in front of trailer should be enough for don, neil, your gear.. is jamie still coming?

You could always put a cargo net in the front of the trailer for coolers, grills, etc.  A cheap easy way to make a rod pod is to get threaded pvc pipe and two screw on caps.  You will have to pull your reels but the rod tips will be intact.  If you use the rod pods they can be secured under the top bars or against the side walls.  Note the keyword SECURED.  One other thing to remember the pressure sprayers can be used as a portable shower, bring soap.  Catch some big ones, be safe and look out for each other, have some good lies to tell about the ones that got away, and have a great time.

Is anyone bringing a pressure sprayer to wash down gear? Thinking it might be a good idea to pick one up from princess auto for 15$ or so.

thanks for reminding me..i was going to get a cheap garden watering can $5 to rinse off kayak...which I forgot to get when i was at canadiantire earlier.

but if pressure sprayer only $15 might not be a bad item.  However no princessauto near downtown toronto..

This is what I was thinking of

nice work..   didn't think about adding wood to raise the rail..

if so would of suggest you use long 2x4 on either rails with U-clamp for easy removal..

plus there still at lease 2ft of room in front of the kayaks for storage...
