I've got a Wenoka dive knife on my vest. Very durable, sharp and easily accessible in an emergency.

Just hope I never need it.

It's what I have as well

If i had to toss all my knives but one, I'd. Keep my Spyderco. Super light, excellent steel and indestructible.

The Bear Grylls range of knives are some of the best knives out there, he didn't just stick his name on a random knife, he was involved in its complete developement, they really are worth the money.

I have the Opinel in my knife collection and it's a decent knife but not that pocketable.  Regarding the Gerber Bear Grylls -- I don't care about the name but trust me it's a great deal of a knife .. especially at ebay prices.  It's been my edc knife for a while now. Those Sanrenmu knives look cool though .. will have to check them out.

not sure I'm gonna make the show this year. I dont really need any new stuff, I'm already good enough  :P

I have an Opinel carbon steel knife I bought right outside the factory in 1992. The cheapest yet by far best blade I own. It developed a black oxide layer and has never rusted. Holds an edge forever and I sharpen to a razor edge on it. None of my other blades can hold a razor edge for any length of time.

Knives:

Gerber Bear Grylls survival knives -- great prices on ebay:

Pocket knife - super light and sturdy.

Bigger one - love these knives.

Would you really buy a knife branded by a TV talking head best known for drinking his own pee?   :o

For decent (but cheap) folder look up Sanrenmu.  They are quality knockoffs out of the same Chinese factories that make Benchmade & Spyderco, only at Chinese prices.  Best bang for buck knives out there, and their blade steels aren't mystery metal like Gerber's.

Opinel's are nice knives but need two hands to open & lock, just make sure you get the ones with Sandvik stainless and not carbon steel blades.  The carbon ones are great to whittle with, but rust like a mofo.

Would love some more Shimano/St. Croix goodies, but there are other priorities ;) for the upcoming fishing season.
