Great answer thanks.
A lot of our guides on Rivers have switched to the SuperFISHal, they like it a lot more.

If I build an event SUP and Canoes are open to join... It's a paddlesport and most sponsors support all types of paddlers.
More people to join and more exposure for sponsors, just a common sense way for more support.

  • Fishing is like smoking crack. Only more expensive
    • Birdsnests and bent hooks

I can see why not. But let me first say, I'm not *against* it. As Red pointed out, it's not a kayak. I'm not entirely certain on the rules and regulations of the OKFS(I don't partake) but guidelines being guidelines, it's to create an environment for a target group to compete in a certain activity. While a SUP might not give any special advantages over someone fishing in a kayak, neither does a belly boat or inflatable pontoon boat. Should they be allowed too? Once rules are 'bent' to accommodate a few, situations can spiral out of control unless clear lines are drawn.

Once again, I don't participate in the OKFS and maybe belly boats or inflatable pontoons are already allowed. If so, then a SUP should absolutely be allowed. I would personally like to see an offshoot of the OKFS, the OSUPFS. That would encourage the sport and give it the proper exposure it deserves. And I would be more tempted to buy a fishing SUP than I already am :)

Interesting question - can't see why not but it sure isn't a kayak.

Here's a good video... See if link works.

Question: would I be allowed to use a SUP at OKFS events?

Just get a Frontier 12....

Agreed, can't wait to start using mine!  Tons of capacity for gear and way more stable than a SUP.

My SUP is unbelievable, never seen anyone dump it. Many videos of JK staff running rapids and still upright.
Times sure have changed for kayaks and SUP for balance and performance.

That's what I see when I look at the Jackson Big Rig that Don has.
I love the look of the yak!

Add a few things to those paddleboards, like short walls for starters, and pretty soon you'd have a kayak - much more useful.

Sweet looking board and chair.
I've had my Jackson SuperFishal SUP since last year and always have fun fishing with it.
Just add a cooler or JKrate on back to sit when needed.

Ok sup board been out for few years now,,

I like the ideal of stand up board,,but hate the part i cant sit,,or have to be up and have a bad back etc

But this kit,,wow

Love that bench

I totaly see myself flyfishing on those or fliping for bass and so on.

Ok might not be a good vessel for long distance,,,but it as some advantage in many other area!
