I was going to go because there was camping advirtised but after many calls and emails, I was tld they are not offering this year, to far to travel from Brooklin 2 days.

No camping are you sure??

Yes positive Yakman, very disappointing, not going to drive 3 hours and then fish and drive home. Not much in the way of camp sites around the area either.

You are in Brooklin correct.  Not sure what route you are taking, but I am pretty sure I can be at Island lake in an hour at the most from Whitby.

I don't know what route that is, it is an our from my house to my office in Brampton and that's using the 407. Anyway my point was that I wanted to stay on site and make things a lot easier.

Google maps says Whitby to Orangeville takes 90 minutes via the 401 & 410 and 80 on the 407. I usually beat the Google Maps times by about 10% since they aren't aware that vehicles can actually go faster than the speed limit.

So 407 and 410/10 is 80 minutes and using Don's 10% less factor makes it 72 minutes.  So my hour is close as I am usually a tad higher than posted speed as well....just a tad. :D
